FAQ
Manufacturing
Made to Order
Many of these product is made especially for you based on placing an order. This is why delivery times takes us a bit longer than you may otherwise be used to. Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions.
Product Care
Things move quickly with this production method so we suggest hanging your garments in a closet for about 24hrs before their first use. This will help maintain the quality of your purchase.
This product is made with high-quality inks that won’t fade for a long time if taken care of properly.
Keep in mind that the original manufacturer’s care instructions don’t take into consideration the printing process. So we suggest following these care instructions to learn how to have the best experience with your purchase.
Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn’t use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items. Tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don’t iron the print.
Follow these instructions carefully to avoid fading and cracking of the print and shrinking of the garment that can occur if you wash or dry it on a high setting.
Embroidered apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. You can use a small amount of chlorine bleach, but non-chlorine is the safer option. If you notice any color residue in water, rinse the garment in lukewarm water and then in cold several times, but try not to rub any stained embroidery.
Embroidered clothing can also be dry-cleaned.
After washing, don’t leave the clothing to soak or lie in a pile while wet. Don’t wring out the embroidered items, but if you want to tumble-dry them, use a cool air setting.
If the garment needs ironing, do it inside-out, preferably between two pieces of cloth. You shouldn’t wet embroidery before ironing or use a steam iron.
Sourcing
This gets interesting. With many items we don’t control the source or operational standards of the manufacturer or supplier. The trade-off of lean production quotas is a dynamic supply chain. As we understand it, most items are finished to our specifications based on where the final destination is, worldwide. We’ve made a point to include some organic items, and will be happy to add more based on their availability and your requests.
Aside from this we’d have to refer you to the manufacturer to look into what sort of practices they follow. While we look forward to growing and gaining more control over our sourcing. That can only happen if it’s gainful to invest in inventory based primarily on the ethical practices of the operators. While we hope that this becomes the case, our effort is to continue to design products to suit a broad spectrum of both our interests and that of our customers. It’s for this reason that we’ve opted not to become clothing manufacturers ourselves and defer to companies that excel at this and other logistical proficiencies.
Future non-apparel items are designed based on more artisan values. Which is to say that we’re making every effort to produce items that are conscientious of where the components are made. As well as maintaining an associated appreciation for the sensibilities of those that supply materials both in part or whole.
Pricing
We’ve put a fair amount of thought into this and decided to launch with things at an introductory price. As our offerings grow we may start to offer bundles or discounts but they’ll be clearly marked. However when market prices change so will our prices.

Sizing?
Each product has a sizing guide embedded in the selection page (see image below). In it you’ll find directions for measuring yourself, as well as product dimensions that relate to their size and your proportions. We’ve tried to offer products with as much form and shape variety as is practical. So we suggest that when you find a design that you’re interested in pick an item from your wardrobe that has the fit you’re looking for and measure it as a reference for comparison. This will help you make decisions and have the most accurate expectations of our products and your satisfaction.

Additional Options
Even though the unisex t-shirt offers the largest array of color and size options we’ve still decided to create color combinations the we think match our art. Similarly while we try to offer items to suit all shapes and sizes of people we run into a few challenges when it come to keeping so many options active on the site all the time. For both of these instances we’ve created the options chart below. So just get in touch with the design name, color name and/or size and we’ll send you a sample image of the final product to review. From there we’ll send you a link that will let you purchase that item as usual. There’s an additional $5.00 charge for these extended options. Also please keep in mind that we’re still restricted to item availability. So it’s possible that the raw material to complete your preferred item may not be available.

Shipping?
The first thing we’d like people to notice about shipping are the delivery times. Please appreciate that while expedited shipping rates are offered they do not expedite production time. If you’d like us to make specific inquires about when you should expect delivery we can. Just reach out with your order number and we’ll try to get you more information.
Returns & Exchanges?
We’re trying to discourage returns. If you’re not sure about what size to buy please take a minute to look over the sizing guides when making your choices and perhaps compare that information against items you already own and are happy with.
However if you feel like a return is necessary you’ll have 7 days from the date of receipt to do so. You’ll need to send an email to returns@studioarras.com with your order number, tracking number and a photo of your packing slip/invoice and the item you’d like to send back. Please make the photo(s) of the items detailed enough for us to evaluate the products condition.
Since things are made to order accepting frivolous returns defeats the purpose of minimizing waste with a made-to-order supply chain. But we understand that mistakes happen and when they come at a cost we all try to recover from those errors the best that we can. However if the product gets damaged due to personal use we will not accept it or issue a refund.
Shipping costs will not be refunded.
Perishable items cannot be returned. While it’s possible that they may not be what you were expecting they can’t be resold for consumption if returned. So the odds that they won’t just wind-up in a landfill somewhere are better with the original buyer. Because if you send them back we’re just going to throw them out since we can’t be certain how they were handled.
general questions
How often are new products/designs released?
We’re always working on new ideas. But there’s no particular schedule. Similarly we try not to target specific seasons. So sometimes something that seems winter inspired may release during what seems to be a summer month where you are. Other times things are designed as a set and released together like Astral One & Astral Two.
Who’s the designer?
All products are designed by Geoffrey Doman. While future projects may try to feature products made by other people those occasions will be specifically highlighted. They’ll most likely be items that we’re so fond of we simply didn’t see any reason to try to do them differently.
some of the raw material for this site is sourced from creative libraries, so we’d like to recognize those contributions to our efforts. thanks!
